At Heatlab, we are proud to have established a long-standing collaboration with Danieli, a renowned global company specializing in steelmaking technology. Since 2016, our partnership has focused on research projects in several crucial areas, including secondary cooling of continuous casting, optimization of the cooling of working rolls in rolling lines, and heat treatment of long products on run-out sections of rolling lines.

In addition to our ongoing research projects, we recently had the opportunity to visit the Danieli during a joint visit. This visit provided a platform to discuss potential collaborations in various other domains, such as waste heat utilization, optimization of cooling systems, and circular economy initiatives. We explored avenues for future cooperation, leveraging the strengths and expertise of both organizations to drive innovation and sustainable practices in the steel industry.

The joint visit to the DANIELI company was attended by esteemed individuals from various organizations, including Prof. Martéta Tkadlečková from VSB, Daniel Urban – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Steel Union, Dr. Válek – Head of the Research Department at LIBERTY Ostrava, and  Assoc. prof. Petr Kotrbáček – representing the Heat Transfer and Flow Laboratory, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, BUT. The presence of these experts further fostered productive discussions, knowledge sharing, and the exploration of new avenues for collaboration.

As we look back on the successful and productive partnership between Heatlab and Danieli, we are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. Together, we will continue to drive innovation, tackle industry challenges, and contribute to the advancement of steelmaking technology. The mutual trust and shared vision between our organizations will undoubtedly pave the way for a brighter, more sustainable future in the steel industry.
