In Třinec, under the roof of WERK ARENA, exhibitors from various industries, university representatives, representatives of industrial property protection, investors, carriers of new ideas and ideas and the general public gathered. More than fifty exhibitors competed in eight competition categories. The event attracted more than 8,000 visitors, who could see innovative patents and a rich additional program – more than 20 lectures and workshops, a Boeing flight simulator, integrated rescue forces day and a veterans’ salon.
The event featured technical high schools as well as universities from Czechia, Slovakia and Poland. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Brno University of Technology was represented by researchers and students from the Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Laboratory, the Institute of Machine and Industrial Design and the Student Formula of BUT – TU Brno Racing. They presented new polymeric heat exchangers for the thermal management of batteries, 3D printing of metals, large-format 3D printing with a robotic arm, a compressed air racing car and an electric student formula.
“Innovation is the engine of business development, and therefore, our ambition at the exhibition is to recall the tradition of invention, which has a long tradition in Czechia. Unfortunately, it has been somewhat forgotten in recent years. However, we want to inspire young people and show them that technical fields represent our future. That is why we have designed the event’s accompanying programme to be primarily intended for pupils and students of primary and secondary schools. We believe that we have shown someone the way, and it will come back to us in the future. Maybe we will meet some of them at the next edition of Invent Arena 2026 as a new innovator or patent holder,” summarises Jiří Cupek, chairman of the board of the organising institution.
The event was an excellent opportunity for the BUT to present its innovations and projects, establish new contacts and inspire the young generation to take an interest in technical fields. We hope our participation will become a tradition and look forward to the next edition of Invent Arena.
